NHS TREATMENT

We offer a complete range of NHS services with the exception of general anaesthesia and sedation.  Services under the NHS include; check-ups, scale and polishes, fillings, root canal treatments, extractions, crowns and dentures, as well as preventative dentistry including oral hygiene and diet advice.  

Fillings under the NHS are limited to silver metal (amalgam) on posterior teeth, and tooth coloured composite fillings on anterior teeth.

Crowns are limited to basic white porcelain bonded to metal crowns on anterior teeth, and metallic coloured crowns on posterior teeth.  Children under the guidance of Childsmile will also receive all NHS services free of charge, as well as preventative advice and treatments such as fluoride applications and fissure sealants.

 Patients may receive a full itemised estimate of the costs before treatment commences - just ask your dentist.

The prices for NHS treatment are set by the Scottish Government and are reviewed annually.
